Extend Upcoming Taster Events

EAP Extend is pleased to offer a series of exciting taster sessions designed to give students a hands-on introduction to our most popular vocational programmes. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity for Key Stage 3 and 4 students to explore different career pathways, build confidence, and engage in practical learning environments outside the traditional classroom.

Each taster has been carefully designed to give students a real insight into the skills, tools, and experiences they would gain on a full-time placement. Led by industry-experienced tutors, students will have the chance to try new activities, develop practical skills, and discover areas of interest that could support their future education and career choices.

What Students Can Expect

During our taster sessions, students will:

• Take part in practical, hands-on activities
• Work with specialist equipment and resources
• Learn from experienced vocational tutors
• Gain a better understanding of different industries and career pathways
• Build confidence in a supportive and engaging environment

Upcoming Taster Sessions

AAXA Hairdressing & Barbering
Students will explore the fundamentals of hairdressing and barbering, including styling techniques, tool handling, and basic client care.

Build (Construction) & Motor Mechanics
This combined taster offers students the chance to experience both construction skills and motor vehicle maintenance, developing practical abilities across two high-demand industries.

The VeloBuild Project (Bike Maintenance & Mechanics)
Students will work on real bikes, learning essential maintenance and repair skills while gaining insight into sustainable transport and mechanics.
