Key Stage 4

Aims:

GCSE qualification in Business Studies subject will encourage students to:

  • Be inspired
  • Be challenged
  • To gain an insight into the business environment

It will prepare students to make informed decisions about further learning opportunities and career choices.

A GCSE in business studies will enable students to actively engage in the study of business and economies to develop as effective and independent students and as critical and reflective thinkers.

Summary of the course structure

GCSE IN BUSINESS STUDIES

There will be two pathways for GCSE Business Studies

Full Course

The following units will have to be completed to gain a full GCSE.

Unit1 Introduction to Small Business

Unit2 Investigating a Small Business

Unit3 Building a Business

Short Course Until 2017

The following units will have to be completed to gain a short course GCSE.

Unit 2 InvestigatingSmall Business

Unit 6 Introduction for Small Business

  1.  

Unit1 = 25% of the total GCSE mark

This unit is externally assessed and is a 45 minute external exam

Unit 2 = 25% of the total GCSE mark
